Do you want to work? Do you feel you have the stamina for work? How will benefits be impacted by work? Consider these questions when reviewing these work related services and resources.

  • Contact a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at your local WorkForce Center for information about:
    • Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VR) is for people with disabilities who need services to prepare for work, or to find and keep a job.
    • MN State Services for the Blind fosters the achievement of vocational and personal independence by persons who are blind, visually impaired or DeafBlind. Individuals with vision loss that creates a barrier to vocational or personal independence may be eligible for services.
    • Pathways to Employment (PTE) designed to increase the employment rate and earnings of people with disabilities, and meet the needs of Minnesota employers through full use of the state’s workforce.
    • Extended Employment provides ongoing support services necessary for Minnesotans with disabilities and other significant barriers to employment to maintain and advance in jobs and careers.
    • MN Work Incentives Connection helps people with disabilities understand how work affects their government benefits.
    • Ticket to Work employment program increases opportunities and choices for Social Security disability beneficiaries to obtain employment, vocational rehabilitation (VR), and other support services
    • Look into other Programs for People with Disabilities.
  • Learn about assistive technology and job accommodations options.
  • Job Accommodation Network (JAN) facilitates the employment and retention of workers with disabilities by providing job accommodations, self-employment and small business opportunities. JAN educates employers about their responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and addresses issues pertaining to accessibility.
