Minnesota
Association for Career and Technical Education (MnACTE)
This is a representative, statewide, professional, umbrella organization of
and for individuals who teach, administer, coordinate and offer support services
to students in secondary and post secondary career and technical education.
MnACTE has expanded its mission to include business and community organizations
that partner with Minnesota secondary and post secondary schools to enhance
the career and technical offerings for students.
Minnesota Career Development Association (MCDA)
Offers professional development activities, career information and education,
and networking opportunities to benefit Minnesota career development professionals
as well as the general public. A state affiliate of the National Career Development
Association (NCDA), and a division of the Minnesota Association for Counseling
and Development (MACD).
Minnesota
College Personnel Association (MCPA)
MCPA has had a rich, long-standing tradition of providing professional development,
growth, networking, advancement and recognition opportunities for student development/
student services professionals throughout the state of Minnesota. A state division
of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA).
Minnesota Rehabilitation Association
(MRA)
A nonprofit, professional association of persons employed in vocational rehabilitation
jobs which include: public and private counseling, job placement specialists,
vocational evaluators, support staff, workers' compensation, administrators,
instructors, and independent living specialists. MRA is a state chapter of the
National Rehabilitation Association. Offers training conferences, statewide
quarterly newsletter 'The Spotlight', the national newsletter 'Contemporary
Rehab', an internationally acclaimed professional journal 'Journal of Rehabilitation,'
national and state representation and advocacy on public policy issues, professional
liability insurance, and valuable networking opportunities.
Minnesota Rehabilitation Counselors
Association (MRCA)
The primary mission of the organization is to provide rehabilitation professionals
with essential job-related information through comprehensive and cost-effective
training, networking opportunities, and a newsletter, and to promote the development
and enhancement of the rehabilitation counseling professional.

State College Faculty Counselors Association
The exclusive bargaining representative for all technical and community college
faculty in Minnesota. Provides a liaison between educators in the colleges and
all other groups concerned with education.

American Association for Adult and
Continuing Education
Provides leadership for the field of adult and continuing education by expanding
opportunities for personal growth and development; unifying adult educators;
fostering the development and dissemination of theory, research, information,
and best practices. The Association promotes identity and standards for the
profession and advocates for relevant public policy and social change initiatives.
American Counseling
Association
The world's largest organization representing professional counselors. Association
offers professional publications, access to the best professional liability
insurance program in the industry, discounts on workshops, conferences, books
and more.
Career Professional and Adult
Development Network
Keeps you in touch with other career counselors, career coaches, job search
trainers and human resource professionals through its publications, workshops
and conferences. The Network publishes a bimonthly newsletter and quarterly
journal, both free to Network members. The Network also conducts certification
workshops for job and career transition coaches & job search trainers.
Council for the Advancement
of Standards in Higher Education
Promotes standards in student affairs, student services, and student development
programs since its inception in 1979. Goal is to foster and enhance student
learning and achieve academically, psychologically, physically, socially, and
in general, to promote good citizenship. Publishes professional standards and
guidelines for student learning and personal development support programs and
services in institutions of higher learning.
National
Rehabilitation Association
The oldest and strongest advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities.
Mission is to provide advocacy, awareness and career advancement for professionals
in the fields of rehabilitation. Our members include rehab counselors, physical,
speech and occupational therapists, job trainers, consultants, independent living
instructors and other professionals involved in the advocacy of programs and
services for people with disabilities.
United States Psychiatric
Rehabilitation Association (USPRA)
The USPRA is an association of psychiatric rehabilitation agencies, individual
practitioners, persons in recovery, researchers, educators, funders, mental
health administrators and other interested people dedicated to promoting, supporting,
and strengthening community-oriented rehabilitation services and resources for
persons with psychiatric disabilities, based on the principles and values of
rehabilitation and recovery.
